So wot happens now? CCM have been up for sale for years now with no one interested. The Jets took 5 years to find a buyer while CCM have been up for sale for the last 3 years.

There are always interested parties. Problem is that A-League clubs seem to over-value what they have. I'm sure a buyer could be found tomorrow if they accepted a reasonable price.

It’s weird because I doubt Hanlin would waste hundreds of thousands so far if not millions not the short amount of time on operating costs and salaries if he didn’t have some sort of agreement with the APL.

The rumour is that his boy up there is on a six figure salary doing fuck all.

Yeah but why would CCM screw him like this... if the sale is going through then why did Chalsworth even need to make a statement? It all smells... Also If I was a WU fan Id be pissed the APL didnt keep my club afloat. .
 
What's the problem with Aussie soccer? We develop and export great players, our national teams are beloved, but the A-League just seems so unstable.

Maybe two differences there. 1. This Mariners change is happening during a season, so APL are almost forced to complete it with broadcast arrangements and personnel livelihoods. 2. I'm not sure but I don't think CCM have an enormous tax debt on top of more debts. WU fans can only be angry at their own leadership for that.

I mean they're richer than Mariners lol, but obviously relative to big European clubs no given they've been a classic midtable Championship side that hasn't played in the Prem for decades.

To be honest though all I care about is not seeing a club fold every season and getting a sustainable, thriving competition that produces quality players. I wouldn't want any club to fold, even Victory or Wanderers (then who do we take three points from every season?).
