Didn't watch. Thanks for updates. Surprises? Disappointments? H2H I take it?

Love the second goal. Typical for us to press and then the first touches in transition are the best way to create chances. Macallister is surely interesting for the A League now?

Always a struggle when it's outside the international window. We coulda had players like Alessandro Circati, Nestory Irankunda and Adrian Segečić for example but their clubs obviously won't release them. Still think QPR shoulda released Daniel Bennie for this though, no point having him sit on the bench when he could be at an international tournament, especially when they released Jaylan Pearman.

the Czech League is on a winter break - why wasn't Garang there instead of trying to keep fit on the Central Coast

Mixed up Macallister with Humbert. These kids need to play for A League cellar dwellers to get the games up.

I watched the replay.A win is a win but it was laboured to say the least. The Thai goal was flukey but as Simon Hill said we did not defend free kicks and corners very well.Mcallister's goal was top drawer and he looked lively. The send off thanks to VAR intervention was deserved-it was a potential leg breaker.
Thailand defended in depth but had occasional forays which looked threatening.Their keeper was good and brave and certainly kept us at bay.The China- Iraq scoreless draw was a boon for us.

At one stage the FFA tried to follow the Japanese strategy of sending an underage team to the non-Olympic qualifying u23 tournament, so that the same bunch of players could still be eligible two years later and aim for qualification with experience at the same tournament.

At some point we have stopped doing that., possibly because we still weren’t qualifying for the Olympics.
