How is a winger from broadmeadow magic a direct replacement?

As i said we need to find 15-20 goals because Aguek was easily scoring that many in our team.

Our Aus championship team was so fun to watch i knew we wouldnt be able to keep it together.

He isn’t a replacement I’m guessing this guy signed before Manny decided to go overseas

Yeah I Agree...
Although I know we have to give the football department some time now to find a replacement, and Lavale may not be a certianty to leave but this departure was a little deflating!

I was thinking the same but i had a hope it wouldnt happen so soon.

We are now 2 key players down...eliop in for back and a winger to come in to possibly allow for bonada to move to centre forward? Not ideal unless its an alternative when we need change up .

Anyone know when AL transfer open and close?

I very much doubt that Arran Cocks is a replacement for Aguek. Cocks is a winger.

Dont forget we need a bigger squad due to OFC Pro League. Cocks strikes me as someone who would be playing more in the OFC Pro League and cover for NPL.

If we can only register 23 players same as npl then maybe the club can utilise the u23 roster for senior members who are still under 23 to allow more flexibility for a bigger squad overall. I don't know if there are u23s rules when it comes to wages but spink Pope meneleu papadimitriou and dovison are all still under 23 next season add to them durso and skapoulas who have also still been around the club aswell. The new addition cocks from briadmeadows (can't believe utd spelt that way lol) Halfpenny was still around the club so would need to be added to the npl squad as he's already 23 but this could allow us to have 30 players across both competitions as initially spoken of.

not worried about the depth of the sqaud but the quality of that depth if we arent replenishing the major losses like this one!

Definitely agree we need a replacement. Obvs we won't have one for the first round of ofc as squad last was due today but at least we have time to find one for the rest of the tournament. We do have an import slot still to use. Koko pulled a rabbit out of a hat getting the Japanese bloke mid year and he was definitely quality maybe he might have someone else aswell

Here's hoping!

And then we sign all these players again (or similarly talented players) for the 2026 Australian Championship?

Maybe the club is hoping to just grab a spot in the Top 6, and then take it from there?

Why bother 'winning' the title, when no one cares about the top spot winner.

I dont see how we can compete in these 2 competitions with those 2 gone. As i said yesterday more could follow.

It amazes me that none of the Avondale crew that have landed in Preston or Heidelbergs players dont end up anywhere outside the npl.

I just cannot see where a quality local striker will come from who will score 10-15 goals. They would be signed up by their respective NPL teams across the country. The only solution would be to look overseas. That involves having a decent budget to spend on such a player.

Our record with overseas strikers is poor, i'd steer clear. Its still early in the pre season with most clubs stopping for Christmas break now, im sure plenty of players would be up for a switch. You can come to South and put yourself in the shop window for something bigger if you peform or be happy being an npl journeyman.

No disrespect to the Avondales and the so called heidelberg invincibles but this goes to show when you do the business in that blue and white shirt you're going to get noticed more.

There’s not many options at all that can guarantee you 15+ goals in NPL Victoria.

One option worth considering is Ciaran Bramwell, although he has only recently moved to Heidelberg, he’s likely to be playing second fiddle to Juach, he did quite well in a struggling Melbourne Knights team managing 30+ goals in the last 3 seasons. He’s still only 23, so there’s still plenty of upside.

Another possibility is bringing Ajak Riak back. He’s currently struggling for game time in Uzbekistan, and their season has just finished. However, he is still under contract there for another year, and his commitments with the South Sudan national team would see him miss matches.
