NPL 2026

NWS Spirit FC Appoint Sergio Malfara as Men’s First Grade Head Coach for 2026

Looks like Avondale are signing the two Japanese imports from Morten Bay in QLD.

They hijacked our bid, with a huge bomb offer apparently.

Do people feel like it’ll be a let down going back to regular npl again after starting to get used to quasi national football…maybe not for Sydney united who might enjoy the break from nswpol

I think it actually gives the NPL more meaning. Winners go into this awesome competition at the end of the season.

Spot on regarding most clubs... its a tough one though bc the foundation clubs have a taste of a national comp again now and for us its almost like a step back perhaps to then take another step forward (hopefully).. happy for more football to watch though and in tighter leagues hopefully making it even more interesting and unpredictable in the NPLs! Fans will now also be keeping eyes across NPLs i think to see what is transpiring everywhere which is due to the championship imo.

Exactly that re the first sentence, but as I say, maybe it’ll make the foundation clubs even more restless and less likely to accept the state leagues as good as it’s gonna get
