Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

Its showing our cornee bay full the one nearest the main gate entrance (we never fill that)

Heidelberg is showing 3 bays full directly opposite which is the far side of the entry, basically that was even empty against Preston barely 3 tickets had been sold there as of this morning.

Has to be bullshit.
Its a farce, I kept on checking all day yesterday too and its just dumb how they are doing it... I reckon maybe 2k tickets sold IF THAT...

Cutting off their nose to spite their face.... The can sit on the balcony sipping their champagne watching the fights in front of them over who is sitting where ...

But apparently not our clubs fault this time ...

That was a massive win !!!!

That game had everything that a derby should have. We played well and maintained our possession. We looked good moving forward, but there were times where we either picked the wrong option or the passing was just off. I felt we matched it well against Heidelberg. For a team that has been together for just 2 months against a team that has been together for 2 years, we looked strong and decisive.

A great goalkeeper is invaluable. Lopez stood up today and pulled off not one but 2 saves from the penalty spot. If Heidelberg had scored, they could have gone on. But thankfully that didn’t happen. Lopez made so many important saves.

The defensive line was tight at the back and repelled so many attacks. Jankovic was huge and Marshall had another great game. Painter-Andrews didn’t stop running all match.

Manny Aguek - take a bow. One touch - one goal. He just knows where to be and has that striker’s instinct.

That roar for the penalty save, Aguek goal, and final whistle was deafening. Today we were the 12th player. Great atmosphere and energy. Lakeside Stadium is returning back to being a fortress again.

And now we take on Marconi in the Grand Final.

The awesomely titled 'clash of the titans & battle of the bluebloods' can wait until the announcement of venue!

Now we continue to celebrate and bask in having dealt more than efficiently with biggest obstacle to date! Alexanders whinging Army..

Great passion and a great turnout on our end, that dubious call for penalty and almost unnecessery protection of the bergers by the ref did more to instill another level of passion in our loudest corner and beyond during this game! Amazing to be part of it!

One question now needs answering,
Will Heidelberg count this as a loss or are they still unbeaten since the Persian expeditions???

***Cmon Hellas, cmon Hellas eeeoe,
F$&k the Bergers, F$&k the Bergers eeoe!!!

Maybe cos i was directly in line with it but the shirt pull was obvious and i felt a clear penalty, not sure why we reviewed it. The controversy was 20 seconds earlier when the lino flagged for offside and the ref ignored it just prior to the penalty.

They are a great team but they looked suspect defensively when we played in behind them. They dont like having to actually defend. A huge contrast to the A league sides they knocked over that just passed sideways and backwards all game.

This was my understanding of it also although a fair bit soft when south one wasnt given.. i actually thought we were reviewing the offside call and the rest was byproduct, only to be suprised we apparently reviewed thw penalty call.. the dubious part being the lino and the ref for the call to waive the offside away without consult..

interesting to see if the Grand Final sells out.

I’ll be buying my tickets on Monday.

The crowd will be about 4000-4500 max. Make sure you leave home 2 hours early cos you will need 1 hour to find parking at Northland..if you're lucky.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was close to 10k

npl vic grand final crowd was nearly 9k (though counting in a different way to how fa will)

Championship crowds have been bigger than nplvic crowds. So wouldnt be surprised if it was pretty big

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle although id hope we could get 10k, 7k+ would be fantastically acceptible and a very positive outcome away from Lakeside. i think it will be over 5 easy, the factors against it are perhaps the weather and the opposite side of the ground having no cover with a view and the limited seating etc

We will give that ground actual life for the first time in decades, plaster it blue and white and make it feel like our holiday house! Lol
