The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

Maybe they are, but would you ever see an A-League Semi Final at 12.30pm on a Saturday? lol

i dont think so.
No, as the broadcaster dictates the times to maximise their audience, maybe refer the complaints to SBS.

Meanwhile in the UK, we complain about not getting Saturday 3pm kick offs, the traditional time..

If we go by this weekends A league figures by the Aussie teams, the 2 biggest crowds by far were the Friday and Saturday night games, the day games struggled to pull half. Now go one step further and schedule those games even earlier like the championship, what are you gonna end up with? Its not a coincidence. We are literally in summer in just over a week, people want prime time football.

Forecast be 33 degrees in Sydney’s western suburbs on Saturday too fwiw for the midday kick off, and i dare say with a decent amount of humidity in top of that

Last week people were saying they wanted Sunday matches. I can't keep up 😅

Its not about the day but about the time to be fair! Evening matches is the want not lunchtime... the day isnt so relevent.
I'm only going by what the supporters said, 3.05pm last weekend was good, 3.35pm next weekend is bad. That's... lacking sense, sorry mate. Can't please some people, they will always make an excuse. I'm not limiting this to the Championship either, it's exactly the same in A-League. Always an excuse.

Im with you those that want to be there will no matter the time... no doubting that a finals series in twilight/evening would make for a better specticle however and a bigger crowd!

3pm on a Sunday is better than 3.30 on a Saturday, but ultimately the start times in general have to be later. A summer comp needs summer start times. I have no issue with 3pm npl games in winter, the summer equivalent of winter 3pm is really 6pm.

For NPL, show replays, not live TV.
We've both been around the grounds a while. I don't see any significant difference in interest or attendance from when NPL.TV or Youtube.

If you're both talking specifically about Belmore Sports Ground and Sydney United Sports Centre it's not TV coverage that has anything to do with your collective attendances or fortunes over the past few years.

As part of the post-competition review of what worked and what needs to be improved, focus needs to be the kick off times and getting that right.

I think we can all agree on the following kickoff times:
Friday 7.45pm
Saturday 6.00pm/7.30pm
Sunday 3.00pm/3.30pm/4.30pm

The Friday night (7.45pm) and Sunday afternoon matches (commencing after 3.00pm) have been great.

No competition, whether it be NPL, Australian Championship or A League could make a 12.30pm semi final kick off work.

That discussion would involve SBS TV, clubs and Football Australia. I think there's enough goodwill and positivity to continue refining and improving this competition.

Totally agree

Sunday afternoon was always a traditional football kick off time.

You can avoid fixture clashes between A League and Australian Championship matches by not scheduling them on the same day in the same city.

traditional time in UK isn't the same as traditional time in Melbourne, or in Sydney or whatever.... you realise we are on the other end of the world...

I think you misunderstood Guus.. 3.05 on a Sunday isnt good, it is just slightly BETTER than 3.30 on a Saturday :)
