Sit deep, suffocate them in the back third, and hope to score on the break. Very frustrating. We have players there who can do much more than this.
We certainly aspire. The issue is we get on the pitch with poor coaching coaches and tactics. A lot of the players are in worse roles.
This is a friendly so we're learning very quickly what isn't viable. Let's not flatter NZ too much. This is reminiscent to the Brisbane friendly. Good at getting the ball and a firm pass but they're not the biggest on ideas and their squad is also highly competitive for the world cup. Many of our current 11 think they're already going.
Thats the only way to qualify WC automatically. Even Pep wont lead us to beat Japan but he did so credit to him. But this style will turn away the fans.So the question is why the FA accept this? Clearly this style just holds back the talent we got coming through as well.
I just think we can aspire to be more than this, I saw the Australia u20s play at the Asian cup I think it was the best football I’ve seen an Australian play in Asia.Thats the only way to qualify WC automatically. And upon seeing the replay say how well we played and that he’s gonna propose to popparoosWaiting for Decentric to come on and tell us he can’t find where to watch this![]()
No they don't - they have a better midfield on the pitch. All Whites have a far better midfield then the Socceroo's, Poppa is gonna need to sub some players and change his tactics.
Arguably worse as we know what to expect. Those changes don't change enough.
