2025 Australia Cup final rounds thread

Oh look, banter.... from a poster without even the tiniest shred of credibility required to declare an interest in a football club in Australia .... how cute.
You’ve nearly made 7,000 posts, so I guess I can overlook your memory loss so I will repeat for you. I live in Malaysia, so support Sabah FC, I grew up in the St George area, so I support St.George Budapest in the NPL NSW, in the A-League I support Sydney FC because I’m not from Western or South-Western Sydney, and lastly I support Liverpool, mainly because of Craig Johnston’s exploits in the 80s. I also support the Matildas and the Socceroos. Happy now? I don’t really understand this need to attack people because they don’t support SMHELLAS or they follow an A-League team. I support Australian football. Do you really?

When did we say it was good enough? To use your logic though south made the round of 16 of au cup mv and city didnt South is obviously better than half the aleague eapecially its 2 finalists!

End of story!
Classic whataboutism no? I think City played their kids? Which is disrespectful to the Cup and the other teams but CFG are not known for being respectful right?

Dont forget your obsession (clearly) with all things SMFC champ!

You got me! The charming, inclusive fans, and on-field mediocrity as demonstrated by 9th place in the league has made me love SMHELLAS!
Any club can have a mediocre season but why not look at the body of work over a few seasons? Last season 1st and Aus cup semi finalists, 2nd the year before, 1st the year before that. I'd say over the last 3 years South have probably won more games than most npl teams, possibly the most. We still bagged a trophy this year beating the best 2 teams in consecutive games.

Poor you feeling left out are you? Somehow am sure your underlying issues stem more from your own prejidices than any inclusion issues you conveniently try to allude to! Nothing a good therapy session or a few hundred wont sort out for you!

Modern football is all about money at all levels and has been since it became professional about a hundred and something years ago. No one can take any form of high ground so calling a club 'plastic' or 'franchises' demonstrates a very naive perspective of how professional football clubs need to operate.

Modern foorball is about money yes, in conjunction with history though, lets not forget that, neither one on its own works, the 2 have to work together as in Europe (whose example is often cited but that fact conveniently ommited). The history in Australian football isnt the same though as you know so the rules dont apply, a stratup in the way it came is exactly that.
So why should the term bother them if its true? Is the model in place not exactly that, a franchise? Why dont they just own it and be done with it....
the plastic as you well know is a byproduct of the exclusion of the old clubs, comparably a lot less derogatory than 'continually brandishing the foreign 'effnik' conmotation for an australian club especially when they have a far longer history in this country than those offended!

You banish the later 'effnik' idea and it removes the 'plastic' till then nothing will change and no alignemnt can come!

My point was that the NST is supposed to be about the best of the NPL in Aus, that’s why the Premiers of each state are in along with the Foundation Clubs. Do you think almost getting relegated and finishing 9th is a good look? I’m an unbiased neutral, but even a hard-core fan would have to admit it’s nowhere near good enough if they were being honest. But from experience, I’m sure you, Monobrow, and others will play the man not the ball.
What makes you think that? Shifting goal posts again? NST is supposed to be about creating a viable top tier national competition structure so that ALL of the football pyramid in Australia can one day aspire to connect to it through pro/rel.. This season (and the next) was always goign to be an abomination... keep clutching dem straws.

Fascinating.... thanks for sharing... Im saddened if you feel I am targeting anyone for supporting any club... I know that you live in Malaysia and support a Malaysian club, we have had that discussion, yet your Aussie club support has, at least visibily, remained a secret. You cry foul that I "play the man" yet comment on my appearance and club at every chance you get???

Ill happily debate anyone and reply to any jibe (good natured or otherwise) I think you need to take some of these posts with a bit of a grain of salt... Yes, yes we get it, you HATE Greeks and Smellas and whatever... no need to get your knickers in a knot, at least we are big enough and significant enough for you to hate us......
