Sure has been a long one and I got to say Thank christ its over playing SU !
They are the hardest always to play especially 2nd half’s always !
We have had a leaky defence most of the season but we sure have stood up and with luck as occurs the last few games (incl Cup ones)
Thats where we need to improve for next season.
Thanks to Marconi falling off the cliff but we had to win those games mid/late season to take pole position.
Happy as for Franco especially being a ex player steering us to play good one touch flowing football when it falls into place - yep nice football.
Yep League winners are the deadset Champs.

It's what we have been missing all year, Krslovic couldn't do it all on his own. Cimenti is a cement bag, thank goodness he is gone for the rest of they year.

We've only scored 41 goals in almost 30 games. it's our defense that has got us into this position.

it's easy when you start doing the math. Some of their players are on $60-$70k a year.

Kalac $2k a week
Konastabo we offered $1,200 a week, went to APIA for over $2k.

Go through their squad and tell me who is under $1k? maybe their youth players like Gonzales and Court who have both moved on.

APIA players can get fucked.

But Franco Parisi, what a guy. He has helped immensely through the years, donated tapware. fixings etc to our new bathrooms. A former player of course.

hehe hey it works both ways re players, you always got the prickly ones on the pitch makes it the spectacle we enjoy and hate.

Ah Franco - nice fam business he got that’s for sure !
Don't forget he also had a stint with Olympic prior you guys.
He sure is a leading young coach @ 43yrs.

say a squad of 15 for eg @ 2K a/w x 29 games.
900K - now that’s being dam generous all on 2K a/w - hence my question the 1M quote.
As I said we'd be taking a punt, no doubt we are paying well and reaping the rewards.

You’d have to imagine the bulk of that money would be courtesy of wests group/holeman Barnes no? I highly doubt the club is generating sufficient revenue on its own accord from ticket sales and youth fees alone. Australian soccer is never a profitable business but you’d imagine the numbers for npl dont exactly stack up. Maybe if APIA were regularly pulling the crowds at npl level that they have for games on national stage in the aus cup, aus championship it might be a different, although then you’ve then got the cost of playing out Leichhardt as opposed to Lambert park etc

Hopefully this provides the club the same sort of kick up the ass it did for other traditional clubs who have gone through similar and comeback stronger. Plenty of work to do though

Must have been an odd feeling for the likes of tsekenis etc yesterday. To be at the helm of the opposition club handing out the final blow and condemning Olympic to relegation, having a hand in one of their darkest days as a club after all the years he spent there playing, captaining and coaching, growing up supporting the club etc

Npl vic looks like a great line up of clubs next year. After years of some clubs being on the up and some being on the down as is the case in nsw atm, you’ll have pretty much all the historic clubs with some name recognition in the top flight

South Melb, Heidelberg, Preston, Melbourne knights, Brunswick juventus, George cross etc etc
 
In nsw;

Too bad Bonnyrigg white eagles couldn’t get back up to npl 2 this year. They sacked the coach towards the end of the year unhappy with their performance. They’ll play atleast another year in npl 3 alongside Fraser park (Sydney Portugal).

Npl 2 looking interesting league next year.
Sydney Olympic, Bankstown makedonia, Parramatta, Sydney City Hakoah (potentially playing out of their new home by then). Could have easily been Bonnyrigg too.

Not gonna be easy for Olympic, they better hope they change it to 2 automatic promotion spots

(as an aside, and in contrast to the current situation in vic, frustrating having so many of these traditional clubs languishing in the lower leagues and having nothing suburban clubs take their place in the top flight)

well how the cookie crumbles Glenardo.
Just look at the english league clubs that are way down the Div's that once were stalwarts back in the 70/80's, be it any other league - Olympic when you think about it have had a charmed life staying in our top league for ages due to many clubs before not lifting.
Whereas some have been of late and they have no finally paid the price, they have taken their place.
