I see the Ashes stadiums have been announced.

Trent Bridge
Lords
Edgbaston
Rose Bowl
The Oval

A shame Southampton gets one. Need something in the north.

Trent Bridge is the Midlands, which seems like the north.

They usually have one at Headingley or Old Trafford, or these days, Durham.

Grazor will be pleased there is one at Southampton.

There's always a feisty debate about where the North starts. Northerners certainly don't like anywhere in the Midlands to be considered the North.

Australia name 16-strong under-19 squad for a September multi-format tour of India:

SQUAD:

Kasey Barton (TAS/Mosman CC)
Hayden Barbulovic (SA/Tea Tree Gully DCC)
Eli Brain (QLD/Northern Suburbs District CC)
Will Byrom (NSW/Northern District CC)
Blake Cattle (NSW/Keira CC, Illawarra)
Jack Czosnek (VIC/Richmond CC)
Spencer Green (QLD/Toombul District C C)
Connor Gregory (SA/Sturt DCC)
Charlie Henderson (QLD/University of Queensland C C)
Zed Hollick (WA/Scarborough CC)
Matthew Lough (WA/Claremont Nedlands CC)
Neel Patel (NSW/University of NSW Cricket Club)
Jacob Pietz (VIC/Camberwell Magpies CC)
Patrick Sullivan (VIC/Geelong CC)
Theo Tsingos (QLD/Sandgate Redcliffe District CC)
Thomas Vaseo (QLD/Redlands Tigers CC)

Know of only four players, Kasey Barton, Blake Cattle, William Byrom, Zed Hollick.

Surprised Ricky Ponting's nephew batsman Tom Dwyer and paceman William Taylor are not in the squad.

Hope selectors have prioritized those that play spin competently.

Red ball, ODI but no T20 fixtures?

Tom Dwyer might be a bit old, Baggers.

Anyone else think Aus is crazy picking such an old team for the 2 northern Aus Tests against a modest opponent in Aus conditions?

For the life of me can’t understand why Corey Roccilioli isn’t in calculations?

He has taken the most Shield wickets as a spinner for 2 seasons in a row. Plus he is only aged 24-25.

Yet selectors seem to love his WA teammate, Cooper Connelly, who has played virtually no Shield cricket.

Also, if fit, surely Jhye Richardson should be in the squad at only age 29?

Off forum a few cricket mates from Tas Members think McSweeney should be in the squad too. Haven’t looked at last season’s averages though.

DC it counts for vital points in the WTC.

I am surprised at the ages of the CA X1 squad in warm up match. Apart from a couple of the bowlers all are shield (first class) players. Wanna a link to Day 1?
