As much as I don't support Labor, they haven't really gotten away with murder. I would say those who implemented Robodebt got away with murder.

Essentially this boils down to, if an organisation attacks Labor, you're on board with them. If they attack Liberals, then they are biased and should be shut down. You should read 1984.

Nope not at all, I actually want an actually impartial and balanced public broadcaster not the left leaning shitshow we have now.

You're clearly a Labor supporter as you've spent the entire time defending them.

Where was the outcry from the ABC when Albanese made those misoygnists comments on that podcast yet they would've crucified, tarred and feathered Abbott, Morrison and Taylor had they made those comments.

But then again if Labor and the Left didn't have double standards they'd have none at all.

Dude, I am not a Labor supporter. I have never voted Labor and have no intention of voting for them. I've not even defended them. I've only spoken about the media. And as someone who has history working in the media -including for newscorp- I've got a bit more knowledge of the inside than from my own political views.

Just because I sometimes look beyond my own bias, does not mean I support them. I have been critical of Labor on this very forum.

Where has the outcry from Sky been about LNP and their Robodebt policy that has led to people's death's and the lack of any accountability for any person involved?

See how the whataboutism can be from both sides. Obviously what Albanese said was wrong and he should be held to account for it, but let's not pretend like both sides are saints.

Again, my point was simple, you are quick to dismiss anything that has a left leaning, even if slight, yet hold Sky as truth. That's a contradiction.

When did I say Sky was the bastion of truth?

You and your Pommy mate where the ones holding up the ABC as bastions of impartiality and balance when blind Freddie would tell you that is rubbish.

I never ever suggested that Sky were impartial, the only thing I will say for them is they are the only ones who held Albanese to account for his misogynistic comments while the rest of the media stayed silent where as there'd have been mass outrage had it come from the other side of the aisle.

The protection of Albanese and Labor has to stop, this proves the man is unfit for office and should own up and resign.

You used Sky as your critical evidence to make a point. If that's not claiming them to be the truth, then why use them? Sky will never even give credit to the ABC for anything, so they are hardly a credible witness against ABC

I never once said the ABC were bastions of impartiality. If you care to read properly, I clearly said that they have been wrong at times and there is work to be done to restore their credibility.

He hasn't proven himself to be unfit for office (again, I don't support Labor). The issue if that you hate Labor, so Albanese could wear a tanned coloured suit to work and you'd demand he resign. Were you demanding accountability against Morrison when it came out and spoke about how he broke laws and gave himself multiple ministerial positions. He should be held accountable by ICAC? You also haven't said anything about Robodebt, because people should be in jail for that.

Morrison should've been held accountable for Robodebt.

However, If you really think we've been better off in the 4 years of Labor and Albanese then frankly you're living in fantasy land and part of the problem.

I'm definitely anti-Liberal, but that does not mean I am pro-Labor. I'm not sure what else to tell you, but I don't support Labor.

Nah. A few here have shown support for them in the past

But anyone who supports her doesn't seem to look at the fine print or care.
 
Don’t think majority read the fine print even back in the ol regular 2 party days mind you.
I’ll never ever vote Labor and I sure will consider my vote that helps cause them damage plain and simple.
Open to any party in this case or join the donkeys first time in my life :)
 
They can tout their wares and media can tout them and supporters can tout them as much as they want. We do live in a democracy after all. Considering how much seats Labor won at last election they'll still, like the Liberals, be a minority government with very limited influence on policy. People should chill out.

A cruise tour boat captain has failed to win back his job after being sacked for unsafe and “cavalier” behaviour including sleeping and snoring in front of guests and leaving unqualified staff to steer the boat.
The man, who worked for Queensland business SeaLink Whitsundays on their “Wildcat” vessels from June 2024 to June 2025, was employed as a casual master — responsible for the safe operation of the boat — and was found by the Fair Work Commission to have been validly dismissed.

In June last year, one of SeaLink’s deckhands made a complaint about “very unsafe behaviour” from a “current skipper within the company”.
The allegations included the man sleeping on the vessel and snoring in front of guests to the point where they asked “what’s wrong with the skipper?”, constantly vaping on board, and making other crew members drive the boat despite their lack of qualification.
Several other staff deckhands also gave evidence against the man.
Fair Work Commission deputy president Nicholas Lake said that during the hearing, while the man was “perhaps not deliberately dishonest”, he often deflected and blamed others when asked about his own behaviour.
“He appeared to enjoy the theatrics of being on the witness stand,” Lake said, adding the man tried to dismiss the evidence of the young women involved in the investigation, calling them “a junior group of girls who have nothing better to do than gossip”.
The man also compared a girls-only group chat for women working on the boat to the movie Mean Girls.

Lake said the man’s suggestion that the witnesses were less reliable because they were allegedly gossipy young women was “condescending at best and sexist at worst” and noted he was the least credible witness of all the witnesses who gave evidence.
The man admitted to falling asleep on multiple occasions but said it was common practice in some instances such as when the boat was moored and guests were on the beach, and that in another instance, he had taken sleeping tablets before his shift and in retrospect should not have gone to work that day.

The cruise captain was found to have dumped food into the water while guests were snorkelling nearby.
The man also admitted he vaped on board occasionally, but said he did it to help him quit smoking after seeing a hypnotherapist.
One deckhand alleged the man said, “I just don’t give a f---, let them die,” in response to a conversation about snorkel control measures, but he denied this and the commission found there was inadequate evidence to prove this had occurred.

The commission also said the man asked his deckhands to take the helm without supervision despite them not having the appropriate qualifications to drive the vessel, although the man argued he hadn’t put them “in control” of the boat.
“They were following direct orders from me to drive in a straight line,” he said. “There were no manoeuvres, they were not asked to change direction, they were not asked to change engine speeds.”
The man admitted he had thrown a tray of rice salad overboard during one trip out of frustration with the crew and acknowledged this was an error in judgment as it breached marine pollution regulations. However, one witness alleged it was a more significant amount of food including bread rolls, meats and salads, thrown into the water while guests were snorkelling, and that the man had said he did not want to carry heavy bins of food at the end of the day.
The man argued that his conduct amounted to “a number of rather innocuous indiscretions”, but the commission ultimately found there was a pattern of inappropriate behaviour.
However, the commission noted there was some doubt about whether the man had a fair opportunity to respond to the company’s allegations before a conclusion had been reached on them and to have his say on whether the conduct warranted dismissal.
“I consider the rushed and appended disciplinary process in this matter was unreasonable and, as a result, caused some unfairness,” Lake said, ordering $5000 in compensation to be paid to the man.
