NPL 2026

Can someone refresh my memory on how the top 6 final series works in NSW again?

1st gets a week off?
yes - 1 and 2 get the week off and home games.

3v6 and 4v5 in week 1
I'm not sure if its 1 v (4v5) and 2 v (3v6) in week 2, or if it's just arranged that 1 gets the lowest ranked winner from week 1 - but that's how it played out last year.

You do realise that we HATE Oakleigh.I will leave that to other's for why. It's a long story to some extent.

If Heidelberg supporter's weren't so ridiculous hateful towards us, then it would be a decent rivalry.

As for ourselves and Preston, there will always be underlying non-soccer issues, but it is incumbent on both clubs to keep it all respectful.

Problem is that your hard core supporter base still says some awful stuff about 'Hellas', whereas our core support stopped all that years ago.

In fact, it disappeared during that period from late 2000's to 2 years ago when we South and Preston were re-acquainted with each other.

Maybe Preston fans expected that we were the same old club that we used to be? And just assumed we were still chanting the slur's.
We have a general hate for Oakleigh as well mainly because of Aki and his wife who love shafting Preston, so I understand.

There will always be the political issues in the background but for the most part Preston fans have put that in the past and I have personally heard positive and respectful comments made about South from Preston fans.

For the record, these “hard core fans” a.k.a Preston Boys, do not represent Preston. They’ve come out of nowhere, turning up to random games causing unnecessary trouble, chanting bullshit and makes everyone’s eyes roll to the back of their head. I get secondhand embarrassment.

Round 1 against Oakleigh, as an example, everything was civilised, no antagonistic behaviour from Oakleigh, and unnecessarily PB belted political chants. It’s stupid and the broader Preston fan base does not support that. We want a healthy rivalry with big crowds, none of this political nonsense and I can see South has progressed from that which is why I respect South.

We respect you sooooooooo much that we give you one of our top players on loan ffs. Wouldn't be surprised if Mr Plastamalaka is supplying you guys a good deal in exchange for taking Bonada he gives you plaster in return haha but please take Nepo baby then you may just get my respect

Short term Preston got the better end of the Bonada deal, he is fit and can contribute immediately.

Who knows when Juach last played, he is more a signing for the championship imo.

Will be interesting to see how the seating arrangements work for the dockerty cup. Im expecting both grandstands to be full as its a standalone weekend with no other games on.

WIth social club closed i have feeling it will be set as it appears on advert with bergers as home side and main grandstand and preston on opposite stand... that would be the most logical also to avoid any possible vandalisms seen in the past.

The social club is closed during non-South events, so I would assume this would be the case for the Dockerty Cup grand final.

The 'South' grandstand will likely be utilised for Heidelberg fans, and Preston fans will likely be based on the opposite grandstand as per usual arrangements. Preston fans will pack out their allocated grandstand, and I doubt Heidelberg will attract more than 1,200 fans. If Football Victoria cant organise this properly, then they need to have a good hard look at themselves, as South and Preston are able to organise matches without issue.
