That's what I was thinking, this might be a turning point for them pyschologically. England have always had the talent but not the character.
Whether its down to Tuchel or down to the players for installing this new belief its certainly working.

I still don't think they play a dominant brand of football compare to the likes of France, Spain and Argentina but they have undisputed quality which can hurt any team in the world.

I thought this too when it happened - but wasn't Quansah the player that was actually sent off?
It was during the final minutes of regular time. The ball was in the Mexico corner and Henderson was yellowed for saying something on the sideline. That's when the commentators made the comment. Bellingham had been tackled or maybe it was Rogers but it was so crowded down there the ref flashed a yellow.

Quansah had been sent off ages before.

Brazil losing for the 6th straight World Cup to the first European side they face in the knockouts is hilarious. They brought in Ancelotti to build around Vinicius using a Real Madrid template except with an inferior midfield and perhaps the least talented pair of Brazilian fullbacks in modern times.

Truly a classic game.Mexico just don't perform as well when the chips are down. However they did contribute to a tense and hard fought match with a spirited and game English team .Bellingham's two goals were so important and great to see a diving header.Pickford was great and commanded his area so well.
Our boy Faghani had a pretty good game-possibly might get the final .

That's a big call. Lot's of Brazilian fullbacks who were deeply average have got a free ride. Alvez, Marcelo, Filipe Luiz.

That said, loser of the world cup has to go to Neymar. His strongest contributions were a yellow-card and the best party planning service the Brazilian squad has ever been treated to. With all that talent, he was always quick to take the easy road.

Responding to myself here. There's some irony in this. Argentina also have some of the most average fullbacks at this WC, but they won't be caught out for lack of effort.

Had thought so - I'm not sure how people are linking Quansah to the end of the match when he wasn't even there.

I think Danilo and Alex Sandro were finished playing serious football after they left Juventus. Unfamiliar with the Santos guy but he doesn't come across being a difference maker and he plays in the Russian league which has fallen off post 2022. Wesley from Roma being injured was important and maybe he would have made a difference? I'm also surprised Ancelotti didn't call Carlos Augusto. He is surely better than a 35 year old Alex Sandro.

Agree on Neymar. I thought he was only picked for decoration not to actually play.
