Deadset you can't celebrate a goal anymore. I hate it.

King Tom erupted, drinks flying, and then you get that all taken away from you over a stupid call. 10 mins after a goal is scored.

This is ruining the game.
How was the reaction after the last ‘’’’’’offside’’’’’’ calling?

Algeria caught out and Manzambi sets up Embolo for Swiss goal.Algeria are looking good in attack and I think more goals will come.

Agree. VAR is an ASSISTANT referee. Just like the two running the line who do NOT get the benefit of a replay, neither should the VAR. Three second delay, NO replay. If something was clearly missed, the VAR speaks up, just like the two who run the line who speak up with raised flags, and the ref makes a decision, a decision mind you that they are PAID to do.

Switzerland accounted for Algeria 2-0 and did it mainly in first gear.Xhaka is such a top all round footballer with that touch of mongrel which makes him such a difficult opponent.Manzambi one of the best young players in the tournament.

I don't love VAR as often takes too long for decisions to be made.Of course it is fallible as in the end humans still have to make a decision .

I agree, VAR is used incorrectly and should only be used for the obvious errors, however offside is offside and have no issues with VAR used for offsides.

you saying that was offside? based off a "snicko", if it touched his fucken hair?

if the roles were reversed, im sure deep down you'd feel the same.

i used to pump my soccer balls up, these days they need to plug them in. tells you everything you need to know what is wrong about our game.

once a beautiful game, not anymore.

Portugal vs Croatia especially the second half was the match of the World Cup, so much drama espeically towards the end I feel for Croatia it must feel so heart breaking to have that goal disallowed like that but they played great today.

Spain looked like classical Spain, complete control and scored some nice goals against Austria.

Spain vs Portugal feels like a final but its crazy its a round of 16 match lol, looking forward to this nevertheless.

🚨Thierry Henry blasts the referee and VAR after Croatia's last-minute goal against Portugal was ruled out:

🗣️ “I don't understand that decision at all. For me, the referee and VAR have completely ruined what should have been one of the greatest moments of this World Cup.

You cannot overturn a goal of that magnitude unless the evidence is absolutely clear. I've watched the replay several times, and I still don't see enough to confidently rule it out. If it's taking that long to draw lines and freeze frames, then it isn't obvious.

The referee has allowed technology to become the star of the match. Fans didn't come to watch VAR—they came to watch football. Croatia thought they had earned a dramatic equaliser through courage and determination, only for it to be taken away by a decision that will divide opinions for years.

This is exactly why people are losing faith in VAR. Instead of correcting obvious mistakes, it's making microscopic decisions that nobody in the stadium can understand. That's not what football is supposed to be.

I feel for the Croatian players because moments like this stay with you forever. You celebrate, you believe you've kept your World Cup dream alive, and then it's all erased in seconds. For me, the referee and VAR have got this completely wrong.”

So many dramatic late goals this tournament. It's offside and simple as that. Are we really going to award that at face value then see those replays and say it's just? He's got an advantage from a big rule breach that led to a goal.
