A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Emily Gielnik has moved to Pumas UNAM from Monterrey and will remain in Liga MX Femenil for season 2026-27, but it's unclear how long she'll be under contract at the side for.

Do you know how we can watch Damallsvenskan games here in Australia?
Without a VPN that allows you to watch Swedish TV (which broadcasts some games), sadly I don’t (and Amy Sayer also doesn’t know). They’re on Viaplay in Scandinavia which is a subscription service so you can’t physically subscribe outside Scandinavia. I wish they had YouTube or DAZN livestreams, it’s a top league so people would watch it overseas.

However, I do know that the highlights of every Damallsvenskan, Elitettan and Svenska Cupen match are posted online and are accessible worldwide for free (which is how I get my videos of goals in those comps). AI Score, FotMob, Google, LiveScore, Sofascore, etc also have live scoring updates, but unfortunately the Sofascore ratings aren’t updated live and are only published like a day later.

Bryleeh Henry and Alexia Apostolakis are leaving Melbourne City at season's end upon falling out of contract to pursue opportunities overseas after making 84 and 56 appearances for the side in all competitions across four and two years of service time respectively, with Bryleeh Henry also scoring 12 goals and posting 13 assists for them.

GREAT NEWS!!! I rate them, especially Lex who I rate highly. Hopefully City get raided so we have more AAs and someone other than City wins lol.

If she is out of contract then it’s even more surprising that she hasn’t got a move overseas.
I think she only re-signed for one more year two seasons ago. I’d say they’re still getting the deal done. She’s been keen on a move to England but the English transfer window only just opened.

It's only a matter of time before Holly McNamara to an overseas club is a done deal though.

With uncertainty shrouding the ALW ( potentially down to 9 teams next season) it would be in the best interests of players to seek overseas contracts.
It won't be feasible for all players to head overseas though but for those who have the potential to make it abroad like Leticia McKenna and Shelby McMahon then definitely this would be the case.

Yes, I wasn’t referring to all current ALW players although, with the league contracting, fewer opportunities will exist for younger talented players.

As the league contracts then younger talented players will need to head overseas or it's more likely that they'll end up playing in Member Federation competitions unfortunately.
