Wouldn’t a big Eredivisie club (Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV) pay more than a Championship club?
Potentially but he would need to be the right type of player for them. Despite being big, they are still looking to develop guys and sell them onto the big leagues. I don't think this really fits where McGree is now.

At this stage of his career, he just takes the cash available. This might well be petrodollarydoos after the WC.

Unlikely other than a handful of players. There is far more money in the Championship which, other than the clubs you mentioned, is a better and more competitive league than the Eridivisie.
The Eredivisie is better than the Championship.

Was there a reason he wasn't getting consistent game time?
The only reasons why Nestory Irankunda wouldn't have gotten consistent game time this season would be due to injury or suspension but at his age ideally players need as much game time as possible to benefit their development.

The Eredivisie is better than the Championship.
It wouldn't be if Spurs had gone down yesterday.

The Eredivisie has a massive drop off with many clubs that are horrible to watch.

The top teams are very good but the Championship has a stronger bulk of clubs and a few at the bottom drop off.

I would strongly disagree. The Eredivisie is much weaker today than it was in its halcyon days. The Belgian league is considerably stronger than the Eredivisie today, for example.
Interesting re the Belgian league.

I'd agree that the Eredivisie is no longer what it was, which is an interesting question for the likes of Balard and Hrustic - both in teams at the bottom of the table. Balard was one of the better players (occasionally captain) at NAC but to what extent does a player get dragged down by the crapness of his team mates.

Should definitely be in our WC squad in my view, but I don't rate Hrustic - too lazy.

The Championship also has a significantly higher revenue stream compared to the Eredivisie.

This is probably a fair assessment. Heracles are Championship level, PSV are lower Prem level.

Heracles would get relegated from the Championship easily. These power Dutch clubs are woeful. Remember Volendaam with Kuol?

That's the issue with a lot of these leagues. They're gatekept but a large few and the rest are just always making up the numbers. The occasional club sneaks a title but it's rare.

I feel the football suffers in that the clubs that have no chance of winning are essentially training style tactics in matches just going through the motions and existing. Fulham are like that in the EPL to be fair.

Where would you rate each team? I’d say PSV, Feyenoord, etc in the Prem. Better squads than Celtic and Rangers or MLS clubs in my opinion, just saying.

Not if they play in Europe.

The Eredivisie is better than the Championship.
It's not. It's actually not close.

The Championship is the best league in Europe after the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

The other 'big' European leagues have differing degrees of the same problem. 1 to 3 very good teams and then a lot of dross.

There is simply much more money in the Championship and the quality is higher as a result. The gap grows every year.
It's like the EPL vs La Liga but at a different level.

For example, Irankunda's Watford finished 16th in the Championship. Volendam who finished in the same position would almost certainly be relegated from the Championship and would likely be mid table in League 1.

So then how do Dutch teams generally make the knockout stages of European competitions (other than this season)? Unless you’re implying that PSV, Feyenoord and I guess Nijmegen and Ajax are ā€œvery goodā€ and the rest are ā€œdrossā€.
