Kiraz is fullback, i would have preferrred Tuala. But unlike some fans, I always back the team and the club.

Tracey may have been playing with injury.

Readon and Dykes are being prepared, so sign of Cocherane in any grade, hopefully just injured.

Cirro mentioned some players close to a debut. Probably Readon and Spinks.

If we are a contender we might see Dykes, Woods, Todd, Conti and Young later this season.

Unlike our fans, Gus and Cirro know who is playing well in the lower grades, who is a future star, who is injured, and who is playing injured.

Young is probably the reason why we let Marhoney go.

Backing high quality locally developed talent over a more expensive player with less talent is simply smart business.

I think that the club is well aware that we need sufficent depth which means players don't need to play with illness and injury and we don't need to rush young players.

I expect us to let Curran, Baker/Zyron, DFS and Turpin go and sign an experienced back up hooker and 3 outside backs.

I think we will win.

But if we lose, who will be the next player in the fan's cross-hairs?

Hughes, Stefanno and the fullback are the players that worry me.

The young Storm hooker off the bench is also dangerous.

Tuala and Sua should be able to form a good defensive combination.

We need to give Xerri early ball, Tuala is great at creating space for his winger.

Tracey and Montoya both needed to be dropped/rested, it happened 2 weeks too late in both cases. We need to improve our depth so that dropping/resting players is a routine easy decision.

Cirro definately should have rested Montoya earlier and given Sua a run. I am not sure Montoya is good enough for winger, he may be ok as a centre or second rower.

Cirro isn't the first coach to make a mistake, most of them make the occasional mistake.

We have the required depth in the forwards, but are 2-3 players short in the outside backs.

I think we lost a young centre and a young winger that we wanted to keep.

We have had 2 young second rowers playing in the centres in reserve grade and doing a good job, but neither of them could play wing.

We have some talented outside backs in flegg.

Mantoya days maybe numbered. Might need to persist with the new guys : Sua may come good as , might need time :
Tracey needs a good run in reserves sometimes when they blitz it gets the confidence back .
Not sure if we will win tonight Storm will be formidable. Hughes might be on fire they all tend to do it against us this year .
If it's seven losses in a row definitely back to the future Barrett days .
 
Guys like Montoya and Tracey need to get 100% fit and healthy, then get some confidence back in reserve grade.

Confidence doesn't make a player faster.

Sua has a lot of talent / potential.

I'm still hoping for a win...
 
It is going take a big effort in the second half.

Kiraz is too slow for fullback.

Underhill a standout Xerri, Burton and Tuala good
 
I can aee plenty of effort, we we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Sua is injured ir he needs a rest.
 
Great to see Reado get a run, his dad was one of my favouite players.

I remember Steve being dropped to reserve grade and being sent off after puttiing 3 opposition players out of the game with legitimate hard tackles.
 
Hopefully we can forget all of the negative crap now and fans can unite beihind the team. That was a really good 40 mins.

Good win welcome back Kiraz. Hopefully they continue from now on , Burto had one of his best .
Ref definitely was trying to get Storm back into game . Captains challenges saved us as well .
 
IMO we can cover the injury to Presto by starting AJ or Hopoi at left backrow and adding Spinks to the bench.

Spinks is a try scoring backrower, attack is the strong part of his game, defence might need a but bit of work.

Regardless, ii is time to ease Spinks into the NRL he is as ready as he will ever be.

Hopefully, we don't need to rush Kiks and Presto, we can get them 100% fit and fresh for the back end of the season.

This time of the year, having a big forward pack is an advantage. I think we have the forwards to match it with anyone even with a few players out.

Mann starting at hooker worked, his passing does need work, but he can work on that in training.

Kiraz playing fullback and running off Hayward worked well. Also lots to work on, and Kiraz is a bit on the slow side for a FB. Training and playing should also help.

Tigers fresh off the bye and they will have a few troops back. What we need to do is repeat the last 40 mins. We now know how we need to attack, we have the right spine for now, our forwards should more than hold their own, Burto, Xerri and Tuala are very dangerous.

I would be inclined to sit Critter on the bench against the Tigers and use him if we have an issue.
 
Marki - please post an update on your game day experience. I assume you were cheering in the second half and were happy at the end.

The clanger from Kiraz, the injury to Preston and the 18-6 halftine lead even had me pessimistic at halftime.

I could see that Burto and Xerri were killing them and our forwards were starting to get on top. But we still needed to maintain our discipline and execute.

We got away with more "Bulldogs defence" in the second half than we have in previous weeks. I'm finding the winning lotto numbers easier to predict than the refs.

Against the Tigers, we have momentum, Dogs fans will turn up and my hunch is the refs may be 50/50. Crowd are going to influence the refs and the refs are going to influence the game.
 
Flegg win 56-0 Cheden Hayward 3 tries, gun wing not related to Bailey.
Latrel Fing 2 tries playing fullback but can also play in the halves.
 
Reserve grade 38-14, Storm reserve grade is weak.
Sua 2 tries 3 conversions.- confidence boost.
Alatini 2 trys backrower playing in the centres.
Dykes, AJ and Setu trys.

AJ sent off in the 75th minute game was looking good until that point.

I doubt that AJ will be available to the next NRL match.
 
hd , I'm not suewhat is going on wth Green and Gold but the last couple of days it wouldn't let me into the site, wth a notation to say I was basically banned. Fücked if I know why.
