NPL 2026

After April/May the crowds tend to dip with people going to the motherland and the lazy don’t want to watch in the cold
at Prem1 level even many players head over to the motherlands for some summer weeks - I always shake my head why did they register in the first place missing 3/4/5 games.

considering the weather patterns have been changing so much nowadyas it will be interesting what kind of winter we do end up having.

A quick irobot AI search presented this :
Sydney's winter 2026 (June–August) is forecast to be warmer and drier than average, driven by a high likelihood of an emerging El Niño pattern. Expect fewer rainy, drizzly days and an increased chance of clear, dry weather, with maximum temperatures likely above average, particularly from late winter.

Sydney’s winter is a very hard season to describe imo. It can be genuinely warm at times with the nicer sunny days getting into the mid to high 20s during the day if the weather systems are coming from north. But it can also be genuinely chilly especially at night and in the mornings or if it’s windy and raining. Especially in the outer west. The temp range is like 0 degrees to 25 degrees. It can be either a milder version or Melbourne winter or a milder version Qld winter depending on the day. One day you can be in a t shirt, the next day you’re in a winter jacket

Maybe in Melbourne, Sunday kickoffs SUCK

Historically going back to the nsl days Sunday was the day for the majority of games. 3pm when it was a winter league, then kick offs were later when it switched to summer. Im pretty sure Sydney was the same as Melbourne in that respect.

Reap what you sow i guess.

Shame with states leagues, easter and what looks to be pretty average weather might keep the crowd away
I feel sorry for the board and the club.. Its great bringing some of the old fans back now that all the hard work has been done but at the same time where were they during the dark old days of state league relegation when you needed them? I hope your mob can find a balance between ultras and costing the club money and points. A strong Preston makes a strong NPL and Australian Championship no doubt.

Weather gonna by shite but Ill be there with my crew, just pissed off I can't have a kebapi or a beer

hehe ! my sons cro backed squad so so many go back haha lucky subs/ressies are pretty good step in but all depends where on the ladder and other teams form - makes for a stressy period.

It will be our lowest turnout at Preston by far on Saturday. Dont see more than 200 of us being there. The previous 2 games there we were at 1,000+. Crowds will be low across the board on Saturday.
