English Premier League 🦁

I’m sure they would if they were in the competition (which one of them will be). Chelsea care about their Club World Cup and Conference League. Man United wanted to desperately win the Europa League to save their season.

I would understand thinking that way if your team can’t win a trophy though.
Chelsea supporters don’t give a fuck about their conference trophy , nor do WHU either. The champions league is where the real bragging rights are at. Look at all the empty seats when the big boys play in the lower European leagues.

So your only criteria is winning the league?
Trying to use your own criteria... Domestic cups are only 4-5 matches remember and they havent won a champions league so?... Angie winning the bloody Europa is the ONLY thing they have to even remotely be proud of and you wanna pretend they are a big 6 club without him??? And I know nothing???

Sure sure.
Winning ACL2, would have just been papering over the cracks, the same with Spurs. The league is your bread and butter.Domestic cups you only play 4 or 5 games, so not comparable to a 38 game season, whit is the real test of how good you really are.
A fine example is Wigan winning the 2013 FA cup final and getting relegated, that ended up costing them hundreds of millions of pounds and a slow dive into league 1, soon to be league 2.

You seem to laugh Niccar, what were Chelsea before Abramovich and city before they arabs came calling.
Not a big club.

What are Spurs after Ange? Still not a big club.

Absolutely agree with you that Spurs WERE one of the big 4. Now they aren't, consistently. Not just a year or two out like United and Liverpool and Arsenal, but consistently.

You do know that they have won 3 other European trophies, not just the one that the rotund one was in charge of. History is not just now or thirty odd years ago. Is your club still a big club, despite not being in the top league for 26 or so years?

West Ham fans absolutely do bring it up? I mean, not to us since we have a Europa League but they certainly do to Arsenal fans and I'm sure they would to Millwall fans next season if they end up being in the same division (either Millwall goes up from the playoffs or West Ham goes down). Chelsea also claim that they are "world champions" all the time.

The Europa League isn't tiny teams. Some of the teams we had to beat last season are now in the Champions League (Bodø, Frankfurt, etc) and/or are fighting for it this season (Rangers, Roma, etc). Man U's side of the bracket was probably harder playing Athletic and Lyon. They're not Barça or Madrid but they're good teams. The league stage always has shit teams, Kairat are in the Champions League for example but couldn't come close to winning even the Conference League.

Sadly my club is not now and never really was a big club... Maybe for Australia, but No to answer your question South Melbourne isnt a big football club ... (In my eyese we are giants, but I recognise my illness). Still won more league titles than Spurs BTW AT THE TOP LEVEL...

We are only talking nationally, not globally FFS.

Linfield has won more Top Tier leagues than anyone in the world, but they are NOT a big club, globally, only in Northern Ireland. Get my point now? ;)

We were Big Six but the Big Six isn't really a huge thing anymore when you have the likes of Villa finishing above teams like Chelsea or Newcastle above Man U. It's more fluid now than it used to be. In the 2010s though it was certainly a thing, and it kinda still is a thing when you talk about their global brands and stuff. Spurs have a more global fanbase than Villa despite Villa being consistently higher on the ladder.

Clubs rise and fall too. In the old school era clubs like Everton and Leeds challenged for or won silverware, back when of course Socceroos greats played for both sides (obviously Tim Cahill for Everton, Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka for Leeds). Nowadays Everton are a midtable club and Leeds only just came back up (and the last time they came up a few . Blackburn and Leicester have both won the Prem, but now are battling relegation in the Championship. Bournemouth and Brighton used to be in League One, while Oldham and Wigan were in the Prem. The list goes on. Sometimes it's fast too, like Luton going down twice in a row and now being merely pushing for playoffs in League One.
