I don't care about Royal Commission or whatabaoutism... (although I would like to hear about a recent murder of any other particular group of people in Australia that was racial motivated)

I pretty much agree with 80% of what you and tsf post on this stupid forum but this attack on Jews is pretty lame... they are people as worthy of our protection as anyone else that has contributed in this country.. it just seem odd that you both appear to be taking one side over another?

Israel's response didn't cause the rise in antisemitism, it rose before israel's response by a few 100%. This is similar to hate anti-Muslim hate crimes rose a lot sharper in distant countries (like England) after the Christchurch Mosque shooting than it does after a terrorist attack commited by a Muslim. Unfortunately that is a dark side of human nature, but the general rule is bigots cause bigotry, not the behaviour of the victims

Yeah I totally get that and I agree, ANY laws should be targeted at all transgressors regardless of background..
I don't understand the (for lack of a better term - and apparently self appointed) "Progressive Left's" apparent derision of Jews as if they are some sort of bogeyman..

I mean I consider what the IDF is doing in Gaza as evil as what Hamas-Isis-the Mullahs in Iran are doing in Syria, Iran, Bondi Beach, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen etc etc etc... and sure many far right minded people are extremely anti-Muslim to the point of horrendously Islamophobic even but shouldn't people that, at least pretend to care about equality, not come out and be so one sided?.... You expect a self interested, money over humanity, right wing uber-man to declare an allegiance to ONE side of an argument over another but why does the left chose the side that is also doing all the indiscriminate killing in the name of an aggressive god?

What am I missing?... Since when can you pretend to stand up for the rights of immigrants with one breath and then say "fuck the Jews they deserve it" with the other? Do people not distinguish individuals from ideologies anymore? I just really find it strange how militant everyone is, on both sides of the debate. I like to consider myself slightly left of centre but cannot bring myself to support a muslim world over a Judaic ... they are both at antithesis to my beliefs, and I would guess to many of us, but why is it Muslim left, Judaism Right all of a sudden? Has US politics decided the stance for the entire world now? Have we lost our ability to analyse and decide for ourselves? Have we become dumb arse MAGA acolytes listening to billionaires "prepare us" for the ultimate showdown against Communism while they are robbing the world and our futures blind behind out backs?

You should be old enough to remember the breakup of Yugoslavia - Serbs & Croats never the best of friends became even worse. And the war of disintegration led to eventually jailing a few (not all) for crimes against humanity and the death toll was lower than what it is now in Gaza. This will always bring out raw emotions. And throughout history, from Emperor Nero saying "The Cimri, I forbid them" through to Ivan the terrible almost erasing Novgorod, and Cortes & Pizarro in the Americas, Hitler in Europe and now Netanyahu in Gaza. The pattern is always the same - a blood thirsty megalomaniac pushing genocide. The real question is how did Netanyahu & Likud convince teh world that anything against them equates to antisemitism.
